Having a referral from one of the company employees can go a long way toward landing an interview. The odds of getting hired when you have a referral are very high even if there are another 200 to 500 job applicants vying for the same position. Even if you do not know anyone from the company that could give you a referral, it is a very good idea to go to the alumni network of your university, trade groups, social networks, and professional memberships.
Remember, owning a referral dramatically multiplies your chances of getting the perfect job.
